Is it possible to fall in love with a book? I believe it is, because this story just completely stole my heart. The characters under the big top of the circus came alive to me. Charlie has to be one of my favorite characters ever. As the author says, this is “The story of a man who, through pain, bore darkness so that others could have life.” A story of redemption. And yet though he bore darkness, he exuded joy and love because of his faith. He was branded as damaged goods, and having met beautiful Ella, recognized a kindred spirit who had yet to heal from her chains. I truly loved every moment of this story, and I am sure it will be one I come back to again and again.
